BIOGRAPHY – DR. DANIEL DIEMERS

Daniel is a digital native, author, speaker, entrepreneur and VC investor. He has over 20 years of experience in Financial Services, Fintech, Blockchain, Digital Assets and is a growth & innovation strategist. He is co-founder & partner of SNGLR Group, a fusion of tech lab, advisory and early-stage VC fund dedicated to exponential technologies. At SNGLR, he is working on the outer frontiers of new business models and markets, e.g., in blockchain, NFT/ Web 3.0/ Metaverse, AI, longevity and smart mobility/ smart cities.

During his academic years, he has worked on collaborative, technology-enabled business models and internet-based early warning systems and spun-off two startups during the late 90’ies as an entrepreneur. Academically, he has researched deeply and passionately the social impact of new exponential technologies & digitization on economy and society, publishing his own books and articles, while speaking at many conferences in Europe, Middle East and the United States. In 1997, he won the Honeywell Futurist Award Europe for his visionary exposé of a “virtual triad”, which was also subsequently published as a paperback.

Daniel holds a Master in Economics and Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen HSG, a Master in International Management from the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS), with studies at the Rotterdam School of Management, the Netherlands, and a Ph.D. summa cum laude from the University of St. Gallen HSG, Switzerland. He is also an alumnus from Singularity University, USA, having completed the executive program on exponential technologies and a number of other qualifications.

Today, he is an entrepreneur, investor, active start-up coach, community builder and closely embedded in the international Fintech, WealthTech, Crypto, Blockchain, Metaverse & NFT community. His volunteering and pro-bono efforts focus on non-profit associations as well as microfinance and crowdfunding in emerging markets. He also serves on several Boards as Non-Exec Director and advises individuals, family offices, companies and startups on how to scale and make the right strategic decisions in an increasingly complex environment. He is a lecturer at academic institutions, frequent speaker and critical commentator of exponential technology trends.
